A little sample of my upcoming exhibit, which includes some of the best work I’ve ever made. This piece really drained me, taking four weeks and about 228 hours. I still haven’t really recovered!
Realized that I’ve literally put some blood, sweat and tears into this exhibit. But I think visitors must have thought that blood was paint…. it is kinda hard to tell when there are paint drips all over the workhouse floor. It was 86 degrees in the studio Saturday because of some power outages, and I cut myself on some metal (nothing serious, just a little messy, healed up already).
But I had some moments of joy too, late at night working away, with tears and songs. Sometimes it feels like I’m making something completely impossible, and I don’t really understand it.
I hope you have a chance to come to the exhibit. The opening reception is on July 14th from 6-9pm, at the Workhouse Arts Center, Building 5. more info
